CLARK COUNTY HOMELESSNESS
Due to sky-rocketing rent rates many hard-working families in Clark County are experiencing homelessness for the first time. Between 2013 and 2016 the average rent rate in Clark County has increased by 70%. It is estimated that more than 3,000 school aged children are without a stable address in Clark County. In 2016 nearly 500 families sought shelter for the first time and the current resources surrounding homelessness were only able to place 30% in some kind of shelter housing.
Family Promise is a volunteer initiative that works to directly meet this rapidly rising need in our community. Family Promise provides a safe environment for homeless children and their families while they work on finding a long-term housing solution.
